A key component of our project is the parking lot-roaming robot, used to survey car plates. In accordance to the intrinsic nature of a robot, it has to have a robust mechanical design, as to properly ensure that it has the capability to move itself. This design is shown in details below.

The structure of the robot was developed considering its functionalities. The modeling and dimensioning was made using Solidworks CAD software. Considering the risks thought beforehand and all the requirements imposed on the robot, it needs a base big enough to attach all the components, and heavy enough to provide stability, given that it needs to have a tall structure because of the camera. At the same time, it should not be excessively big or heavy such as to cause space and/or motor problems.
